Call of Duty Vanguard has been unlike any other installment in the franchise. While it has received praise, there has been an equal amount of criticism as well, since its initial reveal in November 2021. Now, Vanguard’s inconsistent start has been proved yet again, thanks to new information claiming Activision lost the battle of PS5 sales for December 2021 to a game from 2020. The title is none other than Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Sony’s PS5 is a popular console at the moment and players love to try out the best and amazing titles on it. Well, it seems like one of their favorite picks has been 2020’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. And that too, over the highly anticipated 2021 release, Call of Duty Vanguard.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales beats Call of Duty Vanguard in PS5 war!
According to reputed industry insider Benji on Twitter, Sony’s 2020 blockbuster overshadowed COD Vanguard in PS5 digital sales for December 2021. The latter was among the highly awaited games of last year. And yet, Spider-Man outsold it.
One main reason for Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ impressive sales performance, even after a year of its debut, was the theatrical debut of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The PS5 restocks also aided the sales of the 2020 title.
That’s according to the insider Benji himself, who thinks the movie actually boosted the sales by a large margin. And as a result of the hype for the Marvel film, many gaming lovers decided to buy Miles Morales for their PS5 consoles.
