Call of Duty fans has always adored the action franchise for its amazing titles released since 2003. Most of them have impressed the players, especially those who have grown up enjoying the classic entries. They were definitely the most epic installments to ever come out in the history of Activision’s iconic series. Probably that’s the reason why games like Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops 2 are still considered great, despite the availability of new and realistic offerings.

Sadly, many nostalgia lovers haven’t been able to enjoy their favorite games in the last few years due to the lack of support on older platforms, such as the Xbox 360. But recently, there’s been a surge in popularity of past titles like MW3 and the original Black Ops, after Activision fixed the servers for almost-dead CoD games.

A lot of CoD classics have been virtually dead for a long time on Xbox 360. It’s because the servers have been unstable for the people who were interested in playing them but couldn’t do so. To their surprise, however, Activision recently fixed the older installments for the Xbox 360 a few days ago. And the results have been nothing less than miraculous for nostalgia lovers.

Twitter account Modern Warfare II Informer recently posted a few tweets that seemingly revealed a resurgence of old Call of Duty titles on the Xbox 360 console. Going by the images in the tweets hits like Black Ops 1 and Modern Warfare 3 have seen nearly 110,000 and 70,000 daily active players. It has happened after Activision fixed the matchmaking issues for past releases earlier this week.

Interestingly, these figures are even higher than what the current game Modern Warfare II has on Steam right now. It implies that many players were interested in returning to the older days of CoD. Now, they are able to relive the nostalgia once again, thanks to the revival of servers.

Another reason for a whopping player count for past titles is that Xbox is currently offering them on sale. This means iconic installments from the Modern Warfare and Black Ops franchises can be purchased for very low prices. Anyone who’s willing to try them can do so by just spending about $10-$15 instead of paying the full price.
