Following the success of the Fortnite World Cup, more tournaments emerged for Fortnite. The unique battle royale featuring a mix of shooting and building brought talented players. However, the faith in these events waivers as cheaters become a common occurrence, even on LAN events!

During one $250000 Fortnite tournament held on LAN, administrators and viewers caught a cheater, visibly using hacks to ruin the tournament.

Cheater gets access to a Fortnite LAN tournament

When it comes to the competitive scene, no one like a cheater. They take away from those who put time and effort into mastering a game. Given that this tournament was played on LAN, one would think cheating should not be as easy as it was here. This certainly was not the case.

With only 30 players left, TT9Jalen and his duo partner carrot13 came under heavy fire. The enemy shot bullets as if they were a laser beam, with an aim so precise, even Tfue would drop his jaw. It did not take long for the duo to understand they came across a cheater.

Tournament admins soon took notice, escorting someone out of the venue, surrounded by officials. While fans thought this was the cheater, it is not the case. It looks like the individual being escorted leaked the event code to cheaters. He did so for $50 per key leaked. As a result, speculation among gamers is that the cheater was not at the event in-person, but accessed the match remotely. It is shocking to see how easy it was for him to leak access keys to a tournament worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Competing players do so not only for the love of the game but as a means of livelihood.

He would promptly be removed from the venue by security, as the crown booed him when he walked by them. The fact that a cheater got to a LAN event is what remains the most shocking part of the entire ordeal. It is an appalling state of affairs for the entire competitive scene.
