Guerrilla Games, the studio behind Horizon Forbidden West, just unveiled a completely new project in the gaming universe. It seems like the plans for PlayStation VR 2, by Sony, are in full force at the moment. That’s why the developer just unveiled an upcoming new VR title, Horizon Call of the Mountain. The reveal came from the CES 2022 event in Las Vegas.

Talking about Horizon Call of the Mountain, it was unveiled during the aforementioned event. The Studio Director of Guerrilla, Jan-Bart van Beek, announced with a teaser that the VR game is coming soon. It will make its way to the next-gen PlayStation VR headset, whenever the latter is released.

CES 2022: Horizon Call of the Mountain early details for PlayStation VR 2

Speaking of what the fans of the Horizon series can expect from the new immersive world in the franchise, then Guerrilla has a lot to offer. According to the developer, players will get to dive deeper into the futuristic adventure. Additionally, Horizon Call of the Mountain will get a fresh storyline for PlayStation VR 2.

The VR game, as per Guerrilla’s Jan-Bart van Beek, will be a unique experience in itself. Horizon Call of the Mountain will get strong support from the next-gen PlayStation VR’s new controllers and built-in visuals. Players will interact with Aloy and a brand-new character, in a never-seen-before format. Other familiar characters will also return in the VR title.

Guerrilla is working with Firesprite studio to develop Horizon Call of the Mountain for PlayStation VR 2.

Moreover, there was another announcement about the next-gen VR headset itself from Sony. They didn’t actually reveal the product but shared several key details on the same. PlayStation VR 2 will support 4K HDR gameplay while enabling 90 to 120Hz refresh rate options.

In terms of display, PlayStation VR 2 will have an OLED screen with integrated camera lenses, and a 110-degree field-of-view. The Helmet will support haptic feedback, along with eye-tracking. Tempest 3D audio and six-axis motion detection system will also be there in the headset.

Speaking of the controllers, then there will be two controllers for PSVR 2. Additionally, the capacitive sensor will also make its way to detect finger touch. Lastly, the headset will have Bluetooth 5.1.
