The iconic Street Fighter franchise hit the 35-year mark this year and Capcom has decided to celebrate it as socially as possible. According to the official social media account for Street Fighter, the 35th-anniversary website for the franchise is now live in Japan. We can only hope Capcom releases a global version soon!

The officials also declared a few new anniversary events that fans in Japan could be excited about. Firstly, fans can send in ‘comments’ related to a specific hashtag to get a chance to feature on the anniversary website. In addition, a brand new 35th anniversary title, Capcom Fighting Collection, is now live on all major platforms.

That’s not it; fans in Japan can also visit a special Street Fighter exhibition ongoing in Japan’s Kitakyushu venue. The exhibition will run until August 7, so fans have plenty of time to relive the franchise’s most winning moments!

Capcom has exciting plans for Street Fighter fans

As fans gear up for Street Fighter 6’s release in 2023, Capcom isn’t going to lose out on celebrating the franchise’s anniversary this year. To commemorate Street Fighter’s achievements, Capcom is now receiving fan comments, which if eligible, will be featured on the anniversary website!

All fans need to do is download any comment card from the options available on the website, type in a comment based on the specified topic, and post it on Twitter with a specified hashtag. The officials will only pick comments that are true to the topic Chosen comments will be featured on the 35th anniversary website. However, this campaign is only for Japan. The fun comment activity and exhibition are exclusive to Japan. However, the Capcom Fighting Collection is not! Fans can get hold of the collection that includes 10 of Capcom’s most iconic arcade-based fighting titles.

The list includes games from the Street Fighter series (of course!) Alongside Darkstalkers, Super Puzzle, and Super Gem titles. Moreover, Red Earth debuted on consoles and PC with this fighting collection.

The officials are also planning to update the anniversary website, so you can stay tuned for new announcements. The Capcom Fighting Collection released today for PC (Steam), Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch consoles.

While there was no concrete information on whether there will be a global anniversary website for the franchise, we definitely do expect one. After all, Street Fighter has fans all over the world. Until then, if you get to visit Japan before August 7, don’t forget to pay a visit to the exhibition!
