The creators behind the top-grossing sensational series Resident Evil have an upsetting bit of news for their fans. Capcom, also responsible for the Devil May Cry franchise, announced a new release window for their upcoming sci-fi thriller, Pragmata.

Pragmata was unveiled at Sony’s PlayStation 4 “Future of Gaming” event for a 2022 release. However, in a recent tweet, the developers have now pushed back the launch dates to 2023. Yet another game that joins the massive list of delayed titles.

Capcom to launch Pragmata in 2023

It looks like speculations from earlier his year have now turned out to be accurate. Reports from January 2021 suggested that Capcom could change its plans for Pragmata, essentially pushing back the launch by a year – originally scheduled for 2022.

Now, an official announcement from the publisher/developer has confirmed fans will not be able to get their hands on the title this holiday season.

Thankfully, the disappointing news had a silver lining. The tweet from the devs was accompanied by new artwork revealing the character model of a mainline character.

Fans reactions to Capcom’s announcement

Many individuals who eagerly await the title’s launch expressed their dismay via various tweets, which is justified given the recent trend of delays in numerous title launches. Recently, a YouTuber even shared his unique collection of delay announcements in a Twitter thread.

Surprisingly enough, there were also fans who, although disheartened, didn’t mind the delay. They urged Capcom to take their much-required time but deliver a fantastic lunar world experience when it finally launches. The community also praised the new character model that was revealed with the new launch window.

Capcom now plans to release their new action-adventure game set in a dystopian near-future world, Pragmata, in 2023. The game will be available on the latest generation of consoles such as the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
