Konami and Bloober Team have no news regarding the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake. They announced the game almost a year ago, and fans have yet to see any updated information about it. No hint at a trailer, but fans keep on getting new details about it through various methods. Earlier, fans were digging through its Steam page to find its achievements and such; now they have noticed something curious on its pre-order page on Best Buy!

Does Pyramid Head need an origin story in the Silent Hill 2 remake?

Silent Hill 2 on PlayStation 2 was a revelation. It was a revelation for being an excellent horror game and, more importantly, for its mind-blowing story. A game that has an excellent cast of characters and music that makes you feel that players are exploring an otherworldly town All in all, it was an expertly put-together experience that fans still consider the best of the series.

But the Bloober Team has decided to start changing stuff for some reason. They have decided to give Pyramid Head an origin story. It’s hard to understand why, though; he already had an origin story in the original game. Pyramid Head is created by James’s will to punish himself for murdering his wife. And that’s why, unlike most enemies in this game, Pyramid Head is unrelenting and almost undefeatable. That’s what justice is, after all.

Fans are not happy with this decision by the developers. It’s as if they just wanted a developer to simply bring back their favorite game to them with modern visuals, and not take any creative decisions for it.

Maybe fans are somewhat overreacting, and maybe the Bloober Team has something good in mind. But they should at least say it’s a new origin story instead of pretending he never had an origin story. Pyramid Head never needed an origin story, but if Bloober Team adds something meaningful to Silent Hill 2 Remake, fans should consider giving it a chance.

Is it just born from a wish, though?

Amongst fans worried about Bloober Team ruining their favorite horror game are some who are simply suggesting that it’s just going to be a remake of Born from the Wish. Which would make sense? Born from a wish is one thing that added much context to the original story, and that’s what might happen here too.

If they end up playing it safe, Silent Hill 2 Remake cannot take a safer route rather than adding any new story components. They can add Born from a Wish, which was a side story for the original game, and add Pyramid Head stuff to that. This way, there would be fewer chances of making the fanbase angry.
