Spider-Man 2 is without a doubt one of the most popular games of this year. And we all know it deserves this popularity without fault. Developers of Insomniac games have really given this game a lot of their time. And it has definitely paid off; it looks glorious, and its trailers suggest the game plays even better than its predecessor.
Giving players the option to control both Peter Parker and Miles Morales is the best thing Spider-Man 2’s developers could have ever done. It would allow players to have some variety in their gameplay and leave much room for experimentation, even in boss fights.

The reason everyone is making so much fuss about Spider-Man 2 having selectable characters is because of how different they are to control. Players get a vastly different experience when playing with these characters; this has already been made evident by the previously released standalone DLC, Miles Morales.
Both of them have a very specific set of powers and moves. Miles deals a lot of damage to his adversaries with gadgets that do electric status damage. And in Spider-Man 2, he would surely need this power, given the fact that his best friend Peter Parker is revealed to be under the influence of Venom. There would be a boss fight at some point, and he would have to fight Peter or Venom. And yes, his powers are effective enough to at least make Venom weak enough to help Peter recover.

Peter Parker, on the other hand, would be seen using his venomous powers throughout the game. As he grows to be more and more arrogant throughout the course of this game, he will also be gaining new powers from the symbiote that will make him nimbler and more effective at defeating his foes.
What about the other villains, though?
While Spider-Man and Venom are the focus of this title, one must not forget that there are a number of more people lined up to fight these two guys. From Kraven, the Hunter to Sandman, there’s no shortage of villains in this game.

As he grows more powerful and gets better at using his powers more effectively, there’s no doubt he will be able to defeat most of them using those electric powers. Let’s see how accurate this theory gets once the game launches. The game is smashing it on the critical side though getting an excellent Metacritic score.
