Phil Spencer says Xbox won’t do with Call of Duty what PlayStation has done with the recently released Hogwarts Legacy.

The proposed acquisition with the Call of Duty publisher is, without a doubt, the biggest situation he has to deal with, along with keeping a check on other ambitious projects, including Hogwarts Legacy’s platform release. Spencer, who had previously played a pivotal role in the introduction of the Game Pass, emphasized the developers’ stance on COD’s platform exclusivity in a recent interview with a reputed YouTube channel.

Moreover, the channel hosts also keep interacting with notable personalities from the industry. This time, they had none other than Phil Spencer himself. He talked about every aspect related to what’s happening currently for the Xbox regarding upcoming games.

However, the highlight of this interview was Phil’s thoughts on Call of Duty coming to Xbox in the future. When the host asked him if the franchise would have any content exclusive to Xbox only, he said there was no such plan to do that. “Nope, no we’re not.”

He gave an example of how other recent blockbusters have imbibed the trend of platform exclusivity. While mentioning Hogwarts Legacy and its special quest available to only PS players, he said that Xbox wouldn’t do that for Call of Duty. “The same version of the game will be available on all platforms, which is really what we do today.”

Well, that’s a big statement coming from Mr. Spencer amid the ongoing circumstances.
