The Call of Duty franchise is one of the most reputed gaming series in the Esports industry. Thus, the expectations are always high in regard to the content they produce. So when Warzone 2.0 was introduced, fans were hyped and excited. Though season 1 faced criticism, the game still has a broad player base. The developers are trying to expand this through the next season.
Season 2 marks the introduction of a new resurgence map. The new map is unique and players are expected to have engaging gameplay on it. So, what is this new island? How much does it cover compared to the prominent maps within the game?

The resurgence mode is one of Call of Duty’s most iconic game modes. In this, the number of players is cut short, and the territory is much smaller. Also, the feature of respawning is also active. Thus, Ashika Island, the new resurgence map, is also quite small. Themed to be a Japanese Island, Ashika has a few interesting points which include the Tsuki Castle.

Coming to Al Mazrah, it is the biggest map in the entire Warzone series. Moreover, the map is even the second biggest one in the entire Call of Duty franchise (with Blackout taking the #1 in the franchise). The Mazrah boasts a 7,095,838m^2 territory. This is a humongous size, especially when compared to Ashika. The latter is a mere 222,002m^2 in size. So apparently, we can fit around 15 Ashika Islands in Al Mazarah.
But this does not mean that Ashika Islands are small. The island is meant for the resurgence mode and thus the small size of the territory is quite normal. And compared to other maps in the resurgence mode, Ashika holds the second position. The biggest is Fortune’s Keep, thus slightly bigger than the brand-new addition. The Rebirth Islands from the first season still remain the smallest map in the game.
