Metaphor is a popular gamer and YouTuber on the internet. In his videos, he mostly shares moments of his gameplay sessions from different CoD titles. Recently, he took to Twitter to drop a surprising update on this year’s offering.

The YouTuber posted a thread while revealing major details on Call of Duty 2023. Per Metaphor, Modern Warfare III’s Warzone map, coming out later this year, will be inspired by Verdansk. The latter is a beloved battle royale map among the players who enjoyed the original Warzone three years ago.

Moreover, Metaphor also suggests that the latest build of the map indicates the presence of slide canceling. Simply put, the movement mechanic is rumored to return once again. But that’s not everything revealed by the YouTuber. The new Warzone map will reportedly also include some classic locations. They could be from the old installments like CoD 4 and 2011’s Modern Warfare 3.

Coming back to the subject of Verdansk, then the map is supposed to have “less open fields and more buildings based battles”. In terms of design, the region won’t have anything to do with recent additions like Al Mazrah or even Caldera. The latter was the last major playable map of Warzone 1.
