According to yet another major rumor floating across the internet, Modern Warfare II will reportedly pull the plug on a big gameplay feature.

Call of Duty might remove slide canceling feature in Modern Warfare II

On Reddit, one user dropped a crucial post explaining things about slide canceling and why it might be removed in the next installment. The user claimed that FaZe’s Swagg and “Zooma” have revealed that Call of Duty will do away with this feature. However, there’s no certainty about it and it’s just a possibility as of now.

Also, another interesting thing to note in this Reddit post is that it states that the two aforementioned creators know about such kind of internal intel. In a way, it implies that Infinity Ward may be seeking help from the creators. Maybe they want to get the feedback and then decide whether they need to completely remove slide canceling or not in Modern Warfare II.

In case anyone is not aware of it, slide canceling is used to maintain movement momentum. It’s done by manipulating the slide mechanic. You just have to just press the crouch button while sprinting to slide onto the ground.

If one manipulates the crouch button during the slide, then it gets canceled. It enables to have faster speed than normal sprinting. Basically, it’s a very high level of skill that can act like a double-edged sword. If used incorrectly, it can punish the players who are slower in movement.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is set to make its way on October 28, 2022. The insanely hyped title will be available for platforms like PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
