The Zombies mode for Modern Warfare III was one of the biggest talking points of the game. With Call of Duty promising the largest Zombie mode offering, fans were keen to find out what that entailed. New details reveal it is quite different than what fans expected, with the mode being a mix between Outbreak and DMZ.

To begin with, the mode will be a mixture of DMZ and Outbreak, only with the addition of Zombies. Instead of speculation of the mode being on Verdansk, it will take place on the new Warzone map. Unlike DMZ, it will not have PvP. While human threats will be a part of the mode, it will only be PvE. Fans reckon the risk V.S. reward factor must be high if there is no PvP factor.

The game will feature squads of 6. Similar to DMZ, players enter from different points in the map, instead of dropping in from a plane. They will take on 60-minute sessions before extraction takes place. The idea is to carry out a set of missions while fighting zombies. The difficulty ramps up as you get to the center.

Fans expected to see the round system make a comeback. It seems Treyarch wanted to keep the round mode for their games, with the twist kept for Modern Warfare III.
