Ahead of its anticipated debut, 2023’s Call of Duty will soon receive an Open Beta phase. Hardcore series fans are looking forward to it and why not. The Beta will let them have a taste of what to expect from Modern Warfare III’s experience. Well, now there’s a piece of crucial news that has popped up even before they dive into the game’s limited build.

The Beta may be starting later this month but a relevant detail attached to it has already leaked online. Thanks to a reliable source, now we know how much space players will have to free up for MWIII’s Beta version.

Call of Duty players will need to have 25 GB of storage for Modern Warfare III open beta

According to the trusted account PlayStationSize on X (formerly Twitter), Modern Warfare III’s beta will weigh around 25 GB. Precisely speaking, the size will be 24.813 GB for Beta Pack 1, going by the insider’s post. On the other hand, Beta Pack 2 will be just a license checker, being 1 MB in size.

What’s important to note is that the aforementioned size only relates to the PlayStation 5. It’s yet to be seen how much the Beta will weigh on platforms like Xbox and PC. However, the leaked information will now give an idea to the players about how much space they will need to clear on their devices.

Meanwhile, there’s a lot of hype going around over the game’s Beta itself. The makers have teased numerous surprises the community can expect to see when diving into the limited build.

What to expect from Modern Warfare III’s open beta and post-launch content?

As of now, it’s been confirmed that players will get to witness the Multiplayer modes. In them, there will be certain remastered maps as well from the list of classic maps returning with Modern Warfare III. Plus, Zombie-based content is also expected to make its way during the beta phase.

Talking about the main launch itself, fans will see the introduction of a Carry Forward feature with MWIII. It will basically allow them to continue using all of their purchased bundles and cosmetics from the existing title MWII. Oh, and there will be classic movement mechanics too, making a comeback, alongside a few of the iconic perks.

Moreover, the game will consist of a detailed open-world Zombies mode. Based on a PvE format, it will make the players to form teams in order to fight hordes of the undead inside a massive map. They will have to loot items and make a successful extraction while completing narrative-based missions.

When it comes to the Campaign mode, the devs will unveil a unique system called open combat missions. It will give more freedom to the players in completing the quests according to their own tactics and strategies. Coming back to the Beta phase, it’s scheduled to start on October 6, right after the COD Next event.
