Activision’s latest premium Call of Duty offerings in Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2 have been out for a while now. Since their awaited debuts last year, both these entries have ended up gaining a lot of popularity. However, there are many players who have also expressed their distaste for them.

Since the start of the new year, many leaks from insiders tried to suggest that Season 2 was going to arrive early next month. To be precise, it was expected to be available in MWII on February 2, 2023. Because the current Battle Pass timer in the game indicates that Season 2 will end on February 1.

Apart from this news, many Call of Duty players, in the last few weeks, have been calling out the makers for the lack of content in both Modern Warfare II and the battle royale title. So much so, that some expert players like Crimsix recently expressed their harsh opinion on MWII’s map design, while saying that Verdansk from 2019’s Modern Warfare was a much better map in terms of level design.

Following the strong criticism in the last few days, Call of Duty recently revealed an official update on Season 2. Going by the makers’ tweet on social media, the next season is going to drop on February 15, 2023.

It means that the recent rumors regarding Season 2’s delay were accurate. Apart from the main announcement, the tweet also teases the awaited rollout of some of the most wanted features, maps, and modes in MWII as well as Warzone 2.

While the news of an official delay didn’t bother them much, many fans took to Twitter to express their feelings about the upcoming updates coming with the next season. Technically, most of them have mocked the devs for finally listening to what the players want in the current installments. And that they eventually confirmed the much-needed changes after losing many Warzone 2 players is quite hilarious to witness, according to some people. “It takes losing half your player base to make changes 😂 why not just listen in the first place,” wrote one individual.

Other players took a jab at the developing team as they believe that the next season won’t consist of anything relevant. And that it will only turn out to be a big disappointment, to say the least.
