Call of Duty Modern Warfare II has revealed tons of collaborations so far since its anticipated debut last year. In November, the makers surprised the fans by introducing playable Operators based on football stars like Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. Following this streak in 2023, Activision ended up bringing other fictional characters as well into the action-filled title.
Not just that, this month itself is going to drop special Operator bundles based on two renowned streamers, Nickmercs and TimTheTatman. It’s the first time Call of Duty has collaborated with content creators to introduce playable characters inspired by them. However, the franchise is yet to make a crossover with other gaming IPs. And that’s exactly what a lot of fans are hoping for right now. Interestingly, though, some of them believe that there already exists a specific Operator skin in Modern Warfare II which is based on a famous video game!

Metal Gear Solid is an iconic franchise by Hideo Kojima. It features the protagonist who’s named Solid Snake. During his missions, he goes on to infiltrate a nuclear facility in order to prevent a global terrorist threat. The last installment released in this series was 2015’s Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain. But what’s the connection between Kojima’s IP and Call of Duty Modern Warfare II?
Well the simple answer is Alejandro Vargas. Actually, there was a skin revealed for the game’s famous character who made his debut during the single-player Campaign of MWII. Last month’s Season 3 update eventually brought him as a playable Operator for Multiplayer as well as Warzone 2.
Interestingly, the one skin available for Alejandro in the Battle Pass for Season 3 has caught the attention of many fans lately. One Redditor, who’s known as SageXI, recently shared a post on the social platform. While making a comparison, they wrote that Alejandro’s Battle Pass skin is actually a tribute to Solid Snake from MGS. In other words, they tried to explain that it’s inspired by Snake’s outfit from Hideo Kojima’s series. Have a look at the two images below, featuring both the characters:
Meanwhile, other users also agreed with the Redditor after looking at the above comparison. “Definitely a nod to naked Snake,” wrote one individual while explaining their reason.
