While there’s been a lot of content revealed already by the makers since the debut of Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty users recently witnessed a brand new Multiplayer mode called Control. Not actually a fresh addition, though, since it has basically made a comeback from a previous entry in the action series. However, it has seemingly become a fan-favorite in the game within days of its arrival. But why?

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II’s Control mode brings smile on the faces of those players who want to experience a team-based objective experience

Control was initially introduced in 2018’s Black Ops 4 title from Treyarch. It basically consists of limited respawns, a much-needed team coordination, and capturing a zone. In 2022’s Modern Warfare II, it is a 6v6 mode involving two teams. They have to either capture or defend two points on a given map. To begin with, both the sides get 30 lives each for all of their players.

Simply put, if all the lives run out, a team isn’t able to respawn again in a match. Yes, both the sides can simply kill each other in order to win but that’s not the actual quest. The two points to capture act as the main objective for them. And it’s also what makes Control in Call of Duty Modern Warfare II stand out from other Multiplayer modes. It works on the principle of teamwork and playing together.

This sentiment was recently expressed by several Call of Duty players as well on Reddit. According to them, Control actually feels like going into a mission with a team, compared to other modes. A user shared a post on the official subreddit of Modern Warfare II, while giving their impressions on the objective-centric mode.

The user, who goes by the name of u/Luka_8102, wrote that Control feels like “a mode where most people try to play as a team, and I enjoy it”.

Meanwhile few other players also seemed to agree with u/Luka_8012. They believe that the recently added Multiplayer content is a breath of fresh air in Modern Warfare II.
