Since its anticipated arrival in 2022, amid massive hype, Call of Duty Modern Warfare II has been in the news for various reasons. Despite breaking sales records for the action series, it has left the players dissatisfied. To be precise, most of them have given it a lukewarm response. Their main concern has been regarding the lack of content. But now, the developers seem to be actually listening to their feedback and voices.

Call of Duty recently revealed a brand new season for Modern Warfare II. Season 2 has started on a good note to say the least, as many of its changes have impressed the fans, if not completely. One can say that the latest update might turn out to be a solid offering from the developers in order to regain the trust of millions of CoD lovers. While the brand new season was just recently rolled out, it looks like players won’t have to wait longer for its successor like they did following the first season’s release.

Release date for Season 3 gets revealed for Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, thanks to Season 2 patch notes

Both Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2 recently received their second season. It brings in multiple transitions to the Multiplayer, battle royale, and DMZ experience. Players have got a bunch of new maps, more MP modes along with Hard Core and much-awaited Ranked Play. On the other hand, Warzone 2 has got its Resurgence mode with a fresh, original map in Ashika Island. The latter is also available to explore in the extraction-based DMZ mode.

While Season 2 seems to be going well for now, Call of Duty devs at Activision are already busy in preparing the next major update. And they have made it pretty clear also, in the recently revealed patch notes for Modern Warfare II.

In case anyone missed keeping track of details, at the end of Season 2 patch notes, there’s a section for what players can expect from MWII and Warzone 2 going forward. Under this section, the developers have confirmed the arrival of Season 3. Here’s what they are working on currently:

  • Gun Fight for Multiplayer with new maps each season
  • Plunder mode’s return in Warzone 2
  • Warzone 2 Ranked mode

What’s even more interesting is that Season 3’s release date has also been seemingly confirmed. Media outlet CharlieIntel posted a tweet on their account, mentioning the exact date for the third season. “The Battle Pass Timer in game has updated to state Season 02 is 55 days, which would put Season 03 start at around April 12th.”

Now that’s like the icing on the cake for all the Call of Duty fans. It looks like the game is finally picking up the much-needed momentum which was missing for the last few months. Hopefully, the next update will bring more improvements in order to make Modern Warfare II a truly great title in the franchise.
