Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare III has turned many heads since it was announced. However, developers recently revealed something truly unbelievable about making this title. After Microsoft’s Activision takeover, the Call of Duty franchise received a lot of attention due to fans’ worry about not receiving its future titles on PlayStation devices. While Xbox boss Phil Spencer appeared like a true savior to them, Modern Warfare III’ Beta didn’t receive overwhelming responses as expected. Developers finally revealed the reason for all of it. Developers were in a bit of a hurry to publish Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III

Recently a Bloomberg reporter tweeted that Call of Duty developers worked on Modern Warfare III to fill a gap in the release schedule of Call of Duty. They believed it to be a mere expansion for many months. However, now Activision revealed that it was never the case for Modern Warfare 3- “Modern Warfare 3 was conceived to fill a gap in the Call of Duty release schedule. For several months, many developers believed it would be an expansion,”

The head of Sledgehammer Games’ Studio, Aaron Halon spoke in an interview that developers thought it was an expansion since Modern Warfare III was “a new type of direct sequel.” Now developers can’t be blamed since Modern Warfare III will be the only game that lets its players transfer gears and weapons from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.  Now it seems like developers were clueless, weren’t they?

This Bloomberg reporter further tweeted about how Sledgehammer Games’ developers were promised a less stressful work environment after releasing Vanguard in less than two years in 2021.

According to Bloomberg, they believed that after this they don’t need to shorten the development cycle anymore. But they were wrong! Within a year of Modern Warfare II’s release, Modern Warfare III is all set to hit the market!

Bloomberg’s report brought a lot of anticipation among Call of Duty fans. But developers of Sledgehammer Games tweeted to raise the excitement since Modern Warfare III is releasing today. They revealed that the team is proud of what they will offer players at release and within the coming year. Developers truly aimed to make their Call of Duty experience even better. They spoke about their hard work in releasing the “first ever back-to-back sequel.”  However, what strikes the fans most is the last part of the statement. Here, developers contradicted the previous rumor about making the game in a hurry with some disappointment- “Anything said to the contrary is simply not true – this is our game and we cannot wait to play it online with all of you.
