The Call of Duty franchise has been around for nearly two decades now. Since the introduction of the first-ever title in the beloved action saga, fans have witnessed various installments featuring the most amazing aspects that one can imagine in well-made AAA first-person shooters. And when it comes to what has fascinated them the most in all of the entries so far, they are definitely the maps.

There are some really impressive maps seen in multiple Call of Duty games throughout the years. However, there have been instances where the players didn’t end up liking tons of them. Well, it seems like the ongoing Modern Warfare II is the title that has recently come under the radar of some players for seemingly featuring a poor level design of maps especially in comparison to its own predecessor from 2019. While the latter had Verdansk, the newest one has got Al Mazrah for its Multiplayer setup.

Well-known player and 38 times CoD champion Crimsix recently took to Twitter and expressed his thoughts on Modern Warfare II. Specifically, he revealed his opinion on the newly introduced map of Al Mazrah. It made its debut last year with the game’s release. Going by what the makers had revealed, it’s the biggest ever map in the series, offering many areas of exploration and to make strategies during various modes in Multiplayer as well as battle royale, and even DMZ.

However, Crimsix believes that Call of Duty Modern Warfare II lacks a good map design. And that it’s nothing in comparison to something like Verdansk – a large map that was originally revealed in 2019’s rebooted Modern Warfare from Infinity Ward.

“FPS titles are in shambles right now but we are not asking the right questions. What we should be asking for is the names of the professors teaching these devs map design 101. You see it across the board, Verdansk was the only iconic-level map made in the last 5-8 years,” read the tweet.

He wanted to explain that the developing teams working on the latest game didn’t put efforts in designing a good map. According to him, Verdansk had all the elements and ingredients of giving players enough options to enjoy. On the other hand, Call of Duty Modern Warfare II’s Al Mazrah is nothing like that.
