Infinity Ward recently released the MW2 Campaign Remastered and are planning on adding classic elements from the series. This includes some maps, and may be included in Season 3.

Apparently, the last update glitched out to reveal that Backlot and Village maps were already in the game but inaccessible. In the weapon department, a Reddit leak revealed two new guns, namely the SKS sniper rifle and Renetti pistol.

Furthermore, rumour has it that Infinity Ward may introduce a third weapon during season 3. However, the legitimacy is in question, since leaks have not mentioned anything.

What else is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 offering?

Other new items include Operator skins, weapon blueprints, watches, weapon charms, XP boosts and CoD Points. Ever since its release, Call of Duty: Warzone became hugely popular, so the Season 3 update will only serve to hype up the game further.

In addition to that, the Season 3 update also witnessed map changes to Verdansk. In other words, the map contains many locked bunkers. Players can interact with them, but they will not be able to open them.

To the fans’ delight, Infinity Ward may decide to add more map locations. Especially since there are massive empty expanses on the map. Realistically speaking though, not all of these changes will reflect on day 1 itself, so they may be available over time.

On the other end of the scale, information based on leaks and speculation should be taken with a pinch of salt. So, nothing is official until Infinity Ward and/or Activision make an announcement.
