Modern Warfare 2 fans have crossed the line, and the community does not seem to be happy about it. Activision dropped MW2 on October 28, 2022, giving fans something they wanted for years. They had delayed the game for months, promising to surprise them with some exceptional content. As a result, fans were allured by the final product as they expressed their excitement on various social media platforms.

However, their excitement soon turned into mental turmoil after they faced multiple issues. Apparently, the game’s servers could not keep up with the traffic, crashing as soon as the player logged into the game. Plus, some players also reported being banned, with their screens frozen even after restarting, re-installing, etc.

As a result, they voiced their sorrows on Twitter, alarming the franchise to find a solution. And in a mere few hours, Activision, as well as Infinity Ward, quickly adhered to their problems. However, some fans couldn’t control their rage, as they took some unnecessary steps in revolt. 

Modern Warfare 2 fans take an alarming step amidst server crash controversy 

After months of manifestation, fans were finally happy to get their hands on Modern Warfare 2. The leaks, rumors, and news had already skyrocketed the game’s hype, making them impatient for the official release.

As a result, it was also a positive catalyst for Activision, with thousands of fans pre-ordering the game copies. However, that had put the developers under immense pressure, as there was no room for error. And while the franchise honestly prayed for a successful release, they fell prey to massive server crashes on day one. However, that was just a small part of it, as users also reported getting banned without reason.

This came off as an alarming threat and users voiced their opinions on social media. But sadly, that wasn’t the case for all, as a handful of them marched to the Activision headquarters in different states. Apparently, some of them also had a feud with their banks, asking them to cancel their ‘game’ orders.

The massive fan revolt was something that no one expected, but somehow the developers instantly adhered to all the community problems. But still, some fans felt it to be half-hearted as they took an unnecessary step against the franchise. However, none of them got an answer as the security escorted them off the HQ after the breach. So, it would be better if they were patient like the others. After all, they also had access to digital mediums, allowing them to send out emails and messages to the concerned authorities for an answer.
