A trusted insider recently broke the internet with a revelation of crucial details related to this year’s full premium title. Considering that Treyarch’s next title is the Black Ops game, which is coming next year, speculations have escalated over 2023’s offering. Modern Warfare II was initially expected to have a life cycle of two active years. But now that an entirely new game is reportedly coming in a few months, is that any chance for its proper sequel in Modern Warfare III?

Tom Henderson is a reputed industry insider and one of the most reliable scoopers on the internet. He recently dropped a piece of huge information, in his article published on Insider Gaming, regarding the “full premium” release this year. Going by his leaked report, it looks like the 2023’s game is going to have a proper pre-launch marketing campaign. Moreover, it will also have a beta access period, similar to Modern Warfare II.

Furthermore, Call of Duty 2023 is also expected to give early access to its Campaign mode to players. This is also what MWII had before its global launch in October 2022. Henderson acknowledged that previously there might have been plans for Modern Warfare II to receive a premium DLC content. “Insider Gaming understands that the project changed direction to become a full premium standalone release planned for 2023,” read a section of the article.

Now coming onto the most important question: Is the premium Call of Duty game of 2023 going to be Modern Warfare 3, the third part of Infinity Ward’s rebooted sub-series?

Tom Henderson’s sources haven’t been able to verify clear details on the game’s name. This means that it’s not yet confirmed if the upcoming title from Activision will be Modern Warfare II’s direct continuation or not. However, considering that MWII’s Campaign didn’t have a proper ending, things might become interesting going forward.

As for the launch date of 2023’s full premium Call of Duty game, the latest leak suggests it will arrive in November. It will be developed by Sledgehammer – the studio behind Vanguard.
