A new leak suggests the possible introduction of a ranked mode in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 and its prequel, letting fans breathe a sigh of relief. The prequel, Warzone, is infamous for not having separate ranked and unranked experiences. As it happens, most fans want Activision to separate competitive matches from casual fun.

Fans were expecting Activision and Infinity Ward to take into consideration their feedback regarding unranked and ranked modes for the upcoming title, Call of Duty Warzone 2.0. In fact, if the speculation is true, players will be able to enjoy some casual battle-royale, alongside competitive matches.

As Call of Duty Modern Warfare II’s release date nears, players can expect Infinity Ward to drop the date for Warzone 2.0 anytime now. According to Activision, Warzone 2.0 will launch for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox by the end of 2022.

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 may feature a ranked mode

According to an informant named Hope, Warzone 2.0 will receive a ranked mode. To test the same, the developers will add a ranked mode to Warzone, before Modern Warfare II releases. Moreover, the primary reason behind adding ranked mode to Warzone is to test the blueprint going into Warzone 2.0.

In addition, the speculated ranked mode in Warzone will be available for Caldera. According to Hope, the ranked mode is unlikely to show up for Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep. In addition, Hope didn’t share details about where the ranked mode will be permanently present in today’s Warzone.

Separating competitive from casual in Warzone will let fans take a break at times. Warzone, as of now, is extremely competitive and lacks balance. According to players, the game’s nature, at present, promotes a lot of camping, sweaty gameplay, and unnecessary pressure.

The free-to-play battle royale title is great for those who love competitive gaming at all times but isn’t the best for casual players.

In addition to the lack of a ranked mode, many players have voiced concerns over Warzone’s strict skill-based matchmaking system. In fact, skill-based matchmaking is the root of all issues that casual players face.

As it happens, skill-based matchmaking forces casual players to play competitively. They often run into campers or extremely skilled players; tackling them requires a lot of work! The most prominent victims of the SBMM system are streamers, who mostly play for fun.
