Call of Duty League: Boston Breach bans Salt Bae from Major II
For those who have no idea who he is, Nusret Gökçe, better known as Salt Bae, rose to fame around five years ago as a meme. He gained instant popularity through his signature salting technique. Since then, he has been spotted with prominent figures from the world of entertainment as well as sports, including Argentina’s World Cup-winning star Lionel Messi.
However, his recent antics after the football World Cup final between Argentina and France attracted massive backlash online. In case anyone missed to keep the track of events, Salt Bae was seen holding the FIFA World Cup trophy in his hands while also kissing it. According to the rules, no one is allowed to do that except for the officials. But he made an unwanted intrusion that left even Lionel Messi irritated.
Following the infamous incident, Call of Duty League’s Boston Breach recently shared a tweet on their official Twitter account. It mentioned that the team has banned Salt Bae from the league’s Major II.

Everything about this Salt Bae's Instagram is cringy as hell but the videos he's posted from the pitch are just awful. He basically is trying to wrestle the trophy away from Lisandro Martinez in one of them. https://t.co/T8TmKnoRvp pic.twitter.com/YCHQO3oUAH

A collection of Salt Bae trying for clout with these players. So painful to watch. Like forcing himself between 2 players and trying to take the trophy away while players try to maintain professionalism, but their faces can be clearly read they are annoyed pic.twitter.com/BbChdBEK3M
