Vice President Yoshinori Kitase recently talked to Bloomberg, as reported by VG247. During the interview, he was asked many questions regarding the latest game Final Fantasy 16, and everything related to it. This was quite obvious given the fact that it has just launched worldwide.

Interestingly, he also talked about changing the styles in FF titles going forward. And that they could take inspiration from other IPs as well, such as Call of Duty. The veteran explained that he’s okay to work on a first-person shooter like Activision’s popular series – moving away from the usual method of presenting the entries.

Moreover, Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida, who was there with Mr. Kitase, even joked about how Call of Duty is very much similar to Square Enix’s iconic saga. He said that it has also got “this small group of people going around saving the world – that’s very Final Fantasy.”

All things considered, it can be said that the makers might do some experiments with future projects. It will be interesting to see if they will develop their own version of an FPS like CoD for the fans or not. But then it will be up to the players as well to accept or reject such a transition for Final Fantasy.
