It’s been a while since Sledgehammer first announced that they are working on a Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 remake. And now, the beta is out. As it always happens when a remake gets released, everyone wants to know one thing. How does the game compare with the original?

Now, with players having access to the beta, we see the gameplay of the remake. In a recent upload on X, a user has put these games head to head up against each other. The results will shock everybody.

In the video that was uploaded to X, the user put up clips from both the games playing the same level and showing the same locations. In the gameplay, both the games look good in terms of graphics. This is odd considering the original game is 14 years old. Nevertheless, both games look like they are modern games. While the upcoming game’s beta looks more vibrant with strong contrasting colors, the original game captures a more realistic vibe.

The footage starts with the player walking down a lane while practicing their aim. As the player walks down the street, elements like cars, roads, and buildings can be observed. While comparing the original with the latter, it doesn’t look like the upcoming game is a step up in terms of detailing.

While there was a more modernistic essence in MWIII, the finer details, like the groves on the gloves and details of the gun, look missing. It was disappointing to see that the vehicles around the map also look like they aren’t really any better than the 14-year-old game.

It looks like a lot of the details around the map are just covered off with a few vibrant colors, almost giving it a slight Fortnite-ish essence. While increasing contrast around the map has an appeal to an audience of its own, it looks like hardcore Call of Duty fans have resonated with it. There are many other elements around where the games were compared. Although the newer game was better in many aspects of its own, it didn’t outshine by much when compared to the game that was released over a decade ago.

The community’s verdict

When it came to the comments section, the community shared their voice. Most of the players were unimpressed with the graphics once they were put up against each other. Some even said that the original game looks better.

The trend continued.

Many gamers believe that game developers from big studios have become lazy, knowing that their successful game will sell. This comment stated the same.

One gamer also said that the games have strayed away from its path.

As the official launch approaches, players expect to see a more polished game. Having the beta for feedback was a good idea from the dev’s end. And implementing changes according to the community’s liking will help more players get into the game.
