The music industry and the gaming world have gone hand in hand for a long time. The action sequences and thrilling moments of games like Call of Duty would be useless if not accompanied by background music and sound effects. The importance of music in gaming is noticeable from Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards 10-Year concert.

However, it is often rare that references to gaming pop up in music videos. But to the happiness of fans, Call of Duty Blackout has made a sneaky appearance in the background of a music video by Juice WRLD and Cordae. And this cameo is special for a variety of reasons.

On June 23, 2023, Juice WRLD’s team dropped a music video alongside Cordae called Doomsday. Toward the end of the music video, some behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the song is shown. Surprisingly, the footage started off with Juice WRLD, Cordae, and multiple other people present in the studio enjoying the gameplay of Call of Duty Blackout. Furthermore, some of the members were waiting their turn to hop onto that game.

Although Juice WRLD and Cordae later started talking about the ideas for the music video, a part of the group was still enjoying the gameplay. Furthermore, the gameplay continues throughout the segment Juice WRLD and Cordae were singing the song. However, it cannot be said with conviction that the game is COD Blackout. The game making an appearance in the background seems to be an FPS title with a battle royale angle.

So all those factors put together point towards the direction of Call of Duty Blackout. But fans should take this information with a grain of salt. However, it can be said with conviction that there is an FPS title being played. Additionally, the group of musicians is enjoying it too, showing the mass appeal of video games. This cameo appearance of Call of Duty Blackout is also special due to the release timeline of the video as rapper Juice WRLD is making a posthumous appearance in the music video after his death in 2019.
