Call of Duty fans are already praising the video game for its advanced mechanics and graphics. They enjoy the exciting single-player campaign and the various thrilling multiplayer modes. However, the game is also receiving a lot of backslashes from fans for the UI design.

The UI design of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II isn’t impressive

Call of Duty fans are being left frustrated after opening the game. The menu system has one of the things the fans have been complaining about since the rolling out of beta versions. But even after so many complaints about the UI, the developer Infinity Ward didn’t think about changing the menu system for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II before its official release.

The CoD players aren’t avid fans of the menu system, which follows a horizontal tile alignment style. Further, they also do not like the icons, claiming some are either very big or some are too tiny. The developers didn’t also separate the campaign, multiplayer, co-op missions, and other modes, instead put them all together.

This new menu style might look attractive to many, but Call of Duty players care more about functionality than looks. The players now share the UI from older Call of Duty titles like the original Modern Warfare series or Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 3. The players want Activision to go for the more straightforward and easy-to-navigate menu system.

Call of Duty fans are criticizing the MW User Interface

Fans have been very vocal about the menu system for the latest Call of Duty fans. Some fans even called out why present-day developers are so scared of using the classic static-style menu. Fans are also saying the menu system reminds them of Hulu. So, some even claimed Activision might have hired the Hulu UI designers to make the menu for Modern Warfare II.
