Call of Duty makers have been following a tradition of revealing special collectibles for fans each year before the launch of a brand-new title. However, this pattern has been missed by recent entries in the long-running series.

Recently, however, Call of Duty surprised the fandom by announcing a special replica weapon to grab in the month of March. As expected, this item eventually ended up going out of stock initially. But now it’s back again and can be pre-ordered before officially arriving in June. But the insane pricing for this item has left many people speechless.

Activision has offered multiple lucrative collectibles for many years, based on different games. During the days of the first Black Ops, the makers gave players an RCXD remote-control car. After that, Black Ops 2 went on to offer a drone that was based on the MQ-27 Dragonfire.

Then came the Black Ops 3 which offers a 7-inch mini-fridge from Call of Duty Zombies. 2019’s rebooted Modern Warfare from Infinity Ward also came with a special surprise for the community. It gave them the chance to own the replica night vision goggles. Unfortunately, 2021’s Vanguard and last year’s Modern Warfare II didn’t reveal any such item before their releases.

But earlier this year, Activision made amends by unveiling the Ray Gun – an exclusive replica weapon from the Zombies storyline. Recently, the makers revealed a dedicated blog for the same while informing about its details. Furthermore, a store link was also shared for interested players who want to buy it.

However, what has shocked most of the fans regarding this replica weapon for Ray Gun is its price itself. As per the official details, it’s available for a whopping amount of $600. Yes, that’s exactly what one will need to spend if one wants this exclusive item.

Meanwhile, a lot of players had some hilarious reactions to this collectible gun. It seems like many of them are simply not interested in having it. Not because they don’t want it but because they just can’t afford it. A lot of players can’t believe that it costs so much. Some of them were assuming it to be around $100-$200 but it’s beyond their imagination. “Damn if I had no bills to pay I would definitely get this,” wrote one user while mocking the makers for keeping the gun’s asking price too high.
