Call of Duty is one of the most loved gaming franchises in the world. It has witnessed tremendous success over the years. This popularity made the community expect great input from the developers. But lately, the franchise has been witnessing a ton of backlash from its very own player base.
This is mostly in regard to the way the developers are treating Modern Warfare 2. According to fans, the game is not getting the necessary changes or updates. And the ones they get are not enough, thus the fans are heavily disappointed.

Infinity Ward is the developer who has been making many popular Call of Duty games. These developers are the ones responsible for the success of the popular game Modern Warfare 2, which came in 2022. But, now the updates that they are bringing into the game are not very much appealing to the community.
People were seen stating that these updates are just ‘change for the sake of change’, and no effort is put into appreciating the demands the fans really want.
I think MWII suffered from a lot of “change for the sake of change.”
Nobody asked for the following to be removed:
-Hardcore modes
-Loadouts (slight changes were made for WZ2 launch)
-Red dots + dead silence from MP
-1v1 Gulag
-Fast paced looting
-And more… (Thread?)— Jack “CouRage” Dunlop (@CouRageJD) January 22, 2023
The game has removed the hardcore modes that many people seemed to enjoy. There have been no significant updates given for the loadouts. Fast pace shooting, red dots, and 1 V 1 Gulag have also been removed.

And to top it all off, there have been no significant updates for the Multiplayer system. These have made fans pretty irritated. They have been outrightly criticizing the developers for not listening to their demands. Moreover, the attention that Warzone 2.0 is getting is intolerable for some fans.
People are voicing their complaints towards the developers
The players of the game have been voicing complaints to the developers at every chance they get. They were talking about the changes brought to the Perk System and how these changes were not ideal for the game.
Perk customization in WZ2 and the whole perk system in MP is unnecessary

MWII perk system has got to go. It is the biggest pile of dog shit in any cod game. why does it even exist????????

There was tons of criticism towards the developers for trying to make the game realistic and failing. People are demanding a vintage style which was seen in Modern Warfare 3.
I just want old school gameplay like we had in MW3. They tried SOO HARD to want to be "Realistic" and "Modern" but it has backfired imo. The last good game I played was BO4 and haven't had that "omg im addicted" factor when playing each new CoD after BO4. I miss it man….

Some had already given up in their pursuit to make the developers listen. These people were talking about how the company already got the money they needed, and thus they don’t actually care about the state of the game.
Doesn’t matter how many times we post about this…. They aren’t changing the game. They made their money already.

All the fans can do at this point is hope that the developers don’t continue their deafness toward these outcries. But, the hope of the player base is surely fading as there have been no official statements the company has put out to address all these concerns from the players.
