Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone progressed into Season 4 on June 17. The Season 4 update brought plenty of fresh additions for fans to try; most importantly, a brand new Battle Pass to grind. And this time, there is a new feature that allows for gifting a Battle Pass directly to in-game friends.

As usual, Season Four’s Battle Pass contains 100 tiers of amazing content that can be unlocked. Among them are a new operator, weapons, blueprints, operator skins, and other cosmetic accessories. Besides, players can gather up to 300 COD Points solely across the free tiers. An additional 1,000 COD Points are also up for grabs through the paid Battle Pass subscription.

Accordingly, one can utilize these handy COD Points to fetch themselves a future season’s pass or bundles available from the store. Unfortunately, not every player possesses the sufficient resources needed to buy a Battle Pass in the first place. Luckily, a generous friend can now intervene and take care of the microtransaction purchase on the player’s behalf.

Gifting a Battle Pass in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

The feature of gifting a Battle Pass initially became available through the Call of Duty Companion app and website. Now with the start of Season 4, this function is available to CoD players through Black Ops Cold War. As a result, one can present their in-game friends with Battle Pass subscriptions as well as Store Bundles.

At the moment, the gifting feature is exclusively for Black Ops Cold War. However, players can definitely expect it to become a part of Warzone too as the season progresses further.

Here are the instructions you need to follow for the gifting process in Black Ops Cold War as outlined by the Call of Duty website:

  •  Head to the Battle Pass menu, or to any Bundle that can be purchased with COD Points within the Store menu. You’ll see a prompt at the bottom of your screen where you can then open an in-game explanation of the gifting process.
  •  Two-factor authentication is required for Battle Pass or Store Bundle Gifting. If you haven’t set it up already, you can set it up right in-game through the in-game explanation screen. If you already have it set up, then you can skip this step by selecting the appropriate option on the explanation screen.
  • Choose your friend from the provided list of Activision Friends. Yes, this means you can gift the Battle Pass or a Store Bundle across platforms and across all countries where the game is available!
  • Provided you have enough COD Points, your friend will receive their gift after you confirm the transaction. If you don’t have enough funds, you can purchase more and get right back to gifting without starting from scratch.

From June 17 to June 30, Call of Duty is also giving away a neat benefit. Any player who uses Black Ops Cold War’s gifting system for the first time will receive a 60-minute Double Battle Pass XP Token.
