With mainline premium entry Modern Warfare II’s success, Activision has at least one thing taken care of. It’s now Call of Duty Warzone’s turn, the Popular Battle royale twist on Call of Duty’s multiplayer. Sledgehammer games and Infinity ward have been hard at work on Warzone 2, the overhauled new version of Warzone.

And it is slated to launch on November 16. Despite being close to the release of Modern Warfare II, Warzone would have no problem getting an audience.
Warzone 2 has something in store for the returning fans
Thanks to Warzone’s steam debut, it would have many newcomers that are all geared up for this new game. Modern Warfare II’s success has enlightened people’s curiosity about Warzone 2. And then there are returning players, people who would be coming to Warzone 2 from Warzone.
Activision has something special for them, a Warzone 1-themed emblem. Emblems are used for the customization of player characters in-game. Returning players have also received a bunch of other perks such as XP boosters and some skins.
Activision launched Call of Duty Warzone back in 2020 after they saw the Battle Royale genre gaining popularity amongst gamers. And it paid off too. People accepted Warzone as their new go-to free-to-play multiplayer game. Ever since, Warzone has gained quite a following, even though for PC players it was only available through Activision’s proprietary launcher Battle.net.
Warzone 2, on the other hand, is also launching on Steam, and some people were just waiting for this moment. Warzone 2 is expected to even take over Modern Warfare II in being the steam game with the most concurrent players.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is as popular as ever too. Numerous people are playing this game day and night. Thanks to its Steam release, it has even broken multiple sales records. With this success comes updates, new maps, and new weapons as added on to the game’s multiplayer mode. And Activision is taking all this very seriously.
They recently released the fan-favorite Shoot House map for Modern Warfare II. And it is expected to receive a lot of new content in some shape or form.
The biggest news is that Modern Warfare II might get a full-sized premium DLC in 2023. It would be developed by Sledgehammer games. Activision plans to replace next year’s full game with this DLC.
