Call of Duty 2021 rumors are getting bigger with every passing day. Since the beginning of 2021, leaks and rumors started doing rounds on social media, giving information about the upcoming title. However, this is greatly hampering the popularity of the existing title. Black Ops Cold War has not even completed 6 months in the business, and everyone is already talking about the next one.

Many prominent insiders and leakers have been doing the job of leaking any recent information about CoD 2021. We first found out that Sledgehammer Games is responsible for developing CoD 2021. Furthermore, new rumors suggested SHG might remaster its 2017 classic title: Call of Duty WWII.

However, a recent finding found solid ground after many online websites confirmed the information. The name of the upcoming Call of Duty title is now out in the open, and it confirms that the WWII theme is back. The presumed name confirmed by various websites is Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard. Moreover, Activision has confirmed in an investors conference that it plans to release a CoD title in the fourth quarter of 2021.

As far as the engine is concerned, rumors suggest the upcoming title will be based on IW8. This is the same engine Infinity Ward used to develop Modern Warfare 2019. Majority of the community also appreciated this particular engine for its immersive capability. However, the popular opinion shifted towards Treyarch as soon as BOCW released.

Future of Call of Duty Warzone

The future of Warzone hangs in the balance as nobody has any idea how the upcoming title will integrate Verdansk. Considering Vanguard is going to be set in the 1950s, there will be a conflict in the timeline between the titles.

The studio might explore alternate timelines of different wars, like the Korean war. The Vietnam war is another probability, but we have to wait to find out what is coming.

Also, a remaster of an old title might not be the best option for the franchise. The community is mostly infuriated with the lack of attention towards the game that makes it a frustrating experience at times. Also, with the advent of new BR and multiplayer titles like Battlefield 6 and Halo: Infinite, the future is indeed rough for CoD.
