Both Marvel’s Spider-Man Remaster and Spider-Man 2 are based in New York. This has made fans wonder what differences will they get to see in the city between the games. While it’s been 5 years since the 2018 release, there have been some significant updates to the graphics and mechanics of the game.

As the original game was made for the PlayStation 4, the developers were limited in what they could achieve.  With the PlayStation 5, the devs have more freedom with how they design the game visually and mechanically. As the remaster of the original game was made for the PlayStation 5, there have been some graphical upgrades, but not many changes to the map. This is very evident with the recent screenshots that surfaced on Twitter.

Spider-man 2 graphics Queens comparison

A recent image uploaded on Twitter caught the community by storm. The image compares 2022’s Queens side-by-side with the one depicted in Spider-Man 2. From this, players can see the major changes that Insomniac has made to the map and the overall look of the games. In Spider-Man Remastered players can’t make it to the other side of the river to make it to queens. This is why there is less attention to detail in that game.

In Spider-Man 2, it’s another story altogether. Players can go across to the other side and explore queens. For this, it looks like the devs have really paid attention to detail to make it look like it belongs within the map of the game. While the game looks like an overhaul, with RTX doing wonders with the water and reflections, the view in the new game from Manhattan is astonishing. With players getting to explore Queens in the new game, it looks like the new area has a lot to explore.

The game also introduces foliage to Queens, changing the look of the place from being a barren borough to the lush green metropolitan it is. All these details have been noticed by fans over time and many are really excited to see what new experiences they will have while playing around the boroughs of Queens. This excitement poured into the comment section of the tweet.

While everyone was excited to explore the new areas of Spider-Man 2, the main question about how much of it would be playable remained. One fan got straight to the point and asked the question.

The anticipation of the game is probably at an all-time high with one comment comically showing how a Walmart is using a Spider-Man poster to highlight the Xbox section. This only gets funnier because Spider-Man 2 has not yet announced its release for the Xbox.

While not everything can be perfect, some players have their own nitpicks about things. While this user expressed adoration towards the improvements, their pet peeve was the greenness of the trees.
