It’s raining survival horror games! From The Callisto Protocol to Resident Evil 4, a number of brilliant games have been released these past few months. And yes, most of them have indeed been remakes, such as Resident Evil and Dead Space. However, the games have been nothing short of excellent.

It now appears this list is going to keep growing as one more survival horror remake will be making its way to PlayStation 5 and PC soon. And if the CEO of this game’s developer is to be believed, this game is going to sell in huge numbers.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is celebrating immense success at its launch. It appears almost everyone who owns a new-generation system, or a PC, is playing this game. And it deserves this success too; Capcom has put so much effort into making this game that it shows very clearly.

Maybe this is what convinced Konami to remake their own masterpiece too. Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake were big enough to reignite interest in survival horror games.

Maybe Konami caught on to that and allowed Layers of Fear developer Bloober Team to work on the remake of Silent Hill 2.

Konami announced this remake, along with a bunch of other Silent Hill titles, last year. The game looked excellent from the teaser that had been revealed. The developers went on to announce that they would be using Unreal Engine 5 to develop it and that it would be a PlayStation 5 console exclusive.

Its music works to pull the players into its story; the environment complements the music; and the story is just excellent. So, it’s not a surprise if numerous fans are hyped for this game. Hence, it makes sense when Bloober Team’s CEO says, “We can assume that 10 million copies sold is a range that will soon be realistic for us.” It does not surprise anyone.

He said this during an interview with Bankier.pl It was later clarified that he did not mean to say it would sell that much at launch, but he meant that this number was possible for this game. For a game that enjoys such a fandom, this does not seem like a tall order. But it would still have to be seen if it actually sells this much when it launches.
