Microsoft Finally succeeded in the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. And it already seems to be paying off Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 might be getting some bad reviews, but the game is still going to be a success. On the other hand, Microsoft is talking to Blizzard Entertainment about the possibility of bringing games like World of Warcraft to Xbox consoles.
It appears Microsoft and Phil Spencer are taking a somewhat different approach to making demands than Activision did. Blizzard Entertainment’s boss seems to have high hopes about Microsoft’s effect on their way of making games. So much so, that they have already started hoping to develop long-forgotten games like Starcraft. All thanks to Phil Spencer’s attitude towards gaming.

When the deal was finalized, Phil Spencer decided to visit Blizzard and see how they were doing everything. This was his way of wanting to know about new games the developer was working on. They decided to prepare a presentation for him before that visit, but all he did was talk and play some Warcraft Rumble on his phone.
This is being seen as a positive change inside of Blizzard. They have been hopeful that this time around they are under a leadership that is more interested in creating new experiences than anything else. They are also hoping that now they would once again get to return to their popular real-time strategy franchise Starcraft.
The President of Blizzard Entertainment Blizzard President Mike Ybarra was even quoted as saying, “It’s not me saying, ‘Go make a StarCraft game,’ He said. “I need to have someone who has the vision and passion that comes with the idea, and I’ll bet on that team.”
It’s as if they are already feeling more optimistic than they ever felt under the hands of Activision’s previous management. It’s a good thing to see a video game developer feel more secure under its newfound management.
