In the world of gaming, one of the most well-known and respected game directors is none other than Todd Howard. Todd has been the lead of many Bethesda games, including some of its most successful franchises, such as Fallout and Elder Scrolls. Many consider Todd the face of the company.
But his reputation also has its downsides, as the fans and critics always put him under the spotlight when it comes to grilling Bethesda or its games. Currently, the most anticipated game from the company is none other than the next installment in the Elder Scrolls series, and in a YouTube podcast, Todd shared some of his thoughts on the release date of the game.

On November 2022, Lex Fridman featured Todd in a YouTube podcast. In the Podcast, Lex asked Todd about the upcoming games of Bethesda, his thoughts on video games, and many other interesting topics. Todd collaborated playfully with the host and answered his questions willfully and whole-heartedly.
In a section of the podcast, Lex asked Todd, “Blink Once if you know when Elder Scrolls 6 is coming out but are not going to tell me.” The question was so simple yet so creatively presented that Todd couldn’t help but praise Lex for his ingenuity. He said, “I have been asked this question many ways, but never like that.”

To answer Lex’s question, Todd simply confessed that even he doesn’t know when will the game be available for release. According to him, he only has a “Vague idea”. Todd said, “I wish it was soon. Like we want ’em out too you know. And I wish they didn’t take as long as they did but they do.”
According to Todd, if he could travel back in time, he would have sped things up. Because he would make sure that things didn’t take as long as it has taken. Lex asked, “So you love that world, that elder scrolls world?” and Todd answered, “Look, it’s part of why I spend so much time there and anything else in my life… so deeply love it.” A vague crack in his voice could be felt as he gets emotionally overwhelmed.

Todd shared along the way how much the game means for him and his team. And he confesses how excited he is about the upcoming game. So much so that during meetings, Todd only thinks about how much he wants to play it right now.
