Welcome new maps and modes with Black Ops Cold War crossplay beta

The crossplay beta will feature two new maps and modes each. One mode coming to the crossplay beta is the classic hardpoint mode, which is a King of the Hill mode. The other mode is the never-seen-before ‘Fireteam’, the 40 player multiplayer mode and the first game type coming to Fireteam is Dirty Bomb. Both the new maps, ‘Alpine’ and ‘Ruka’ are tailor-made for the Fireteam mode.

Treyarch has also increased the level cap from 25 to 31 on the opening day and then to 40 on October 17. Therefore, players can unlock more perks and weapons and test them in the beta. They have also introduced double XP system for both weapon and level progression.

This probably followed the complaints afters the first beta where players argued that in the 48 hours available, they can upgrade very few weapons to unlock all the attachment. This would lead to players testing only a few weapons, and the feedback would be very limited.

Treyarch has also introduced gameplay changes after feedback from the first beta. Many bugs have been fixed and they have also balanced certain items and weapons. First, they have changed the sliding by reducing the speed of the initial slide impulse and slightly shortening slide duration. Second, they have balanced a few weapons from the first beta, including but not limited to the AK and RPD.
