When Rockstar Games announced that its golden child GTA Online would get a next-gen update, fans were ecstatic. The ever-evolving title is almost a decade old now. And while its popularity and sales continue to be a jaw dropping affair, the visuals could definitely use some polish. Additionally, Rockstar even threw in some quality of life features to sweeten the deal. Despite, the game’s landed in hot waters recently.
This development results from a particular issue plaguing the online world. According to a report of Rockstar Intel, players have more to be afraid of just game breaking bugs here. As they could end up unable to play the game again.
URGENT: Do not switch to GTA Online when playing Story Mode. There are ongoing reports from players that switching is causing and resulting in false GTA Online bans across PS5 and Xbox Series consoles.

GTA Online players report false bans for simply playing the title
Gamers across the world were waiting with bated breath for the next-gen versions of GTA V and GTA Online to drop. Upgraded for an enriched experience on Microsoft and Sony’s latest consoles, Rockstar promised a slew of nifty features for these versions. These include 4K resolution, 60fps support, improved texture quality, HDR options, and ray tracing.
However, it seems the actual gameplay experience for certain fans leaves a lot to be desired. Rockstar Intel recently warned players against switching to GTA Online while playing story mode. According to “ongoing reports” from a bevy of players, the switching is resulting in false bans across both Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Quite the next-gen surprise for unsuspecting gamers.
Additionally, this ban reportedly extends to Red Dead Online as it applies to the IP address instead of the account itself. So what should players do until Rockstar sorts out the confusing affair?
