The Dragon Age franchise started in 2009 with Origins being its first game. Since then, the franchise has grown to have multiple games, books, films, and TV series. In June, 2022, EA announced Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Though canceled initially, recent rumors have started giving fans hope that they might see the game release next year after all.

Although the game was announced only last year, the devs have been working on the idea since 2015. Just when fans were starting to think the release of the game was getting closer, the development was canceled. In 2017, EA decided to cancel development for the game only to reboot the project in 2018. Then, just over a month ago Bioware’s Edmonton offices had major layoffs that stalled the development again, but now there’s been some interesting revelations, as per a post on X.

In late September, Keywords Studios laid off all its unionized QA workers after Dragon Age: Dreadwolf developer BioWare declined to renew their contract in August. The recent layoffs had many QA staff picket the studio headquarters. Now, a portfolio of a Senior Cinematic Animator surfaced online which fans are hoping gives away the release window of the upcoming Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

The Senior Cinematic Animator listed down all the titles that they have worked on. They have done motion capture and hand-keyed animation on games like the Madden Franchise, Need For Speed Heat, EA PGA Tour, and more. Along with those games, the animator mentioned that they have worked on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf and that the game is set to release in 2024. Although the year of the release was confirmed, there still haven’t been any dates as to when it will be out.

Along with giving fans an idea of when Dreadwolf will be released, the document also revealed that EA’s upcoming title College Football will also be released sometime next year.  This news has fans at the edge of their seats. The game that faced multiple issues during its development is finally going to be out next year.
