Gamescom 2021 is not that far away, and there’s a lot to talk about. Gamescom will kick off in just three weeks. Hosted by one and only Geoff Keighley, Opening Night will be a live 2-hour showcase at 11 am PT, 2 pm ET, and 8 pm CET.  2020s Gamecom Opening Night Live was a major hit with over two million views as compared to 2019’s Gamescom. In 2021, Gamescom 2021 promises a whole fresh look at the ”biggest upcoming video games”.

Geoff Keighley announced this grand news from his official Twitter handle. The tweet has all the basic details about the event, such as event length, timing, and, of course, date.

The major event will be for 2 days (from August 24-25) slightly delayed than the previous date. Because of the whole ongoing pandemic situation, Gamescom 2021 will be a virtual event for the second year.

Well, he doesn’t reveal much about the showcase or what exactly fans will be seeing. Fans may get some hints sometime before the actual event. There can be some coy tweets from the developers. Sometimes, Keighley himself gives small hints For now, we can only make some basic guesses. Gamescom 2021 will feature many renowned publishers such as EA, Xbox, Activision, and this list goes on. EA has also stated that one brand new Battlefield game every two years makes more sense.

Gamescom is also bringing back the Indie Arena Booth (Online). This year’s show is the third annual outing. It was first organized way back in 2019.

New Concept Gamescom 2021 Epic

A brand new concept is also introduced in Gamescom 2021, named Gamescom Epic, to build up the hype. It is a ”joint quest journey in social media” and involves reaching out to the community. The main reason behind this is that they want to transfer more and more unique Gamescom environments to the world of digitalization.

24 August 2021, mark the date on your calendar and don’t forget to grab some snacks. Also, block out a little extra time as well for the pre-show. However, the pre-show hasn’t been officially announced yet.
