Fans highly appreciated this game, as its concept was something that they had never heard of or seen of. After all, there have been multiple games released in the past having a similar concept, but none of them turned out as good as Fortnite.
But that does not mean users appreciated everything about the game. Sadly, they had a differing opinion about a few things released by the developers, as they felt it ruined the game. So, today we look at five such things where Fortnite messed up.
5. Apple x Fortnite Feud
It is no secret that Apple and Fortnite have a long history of differences. In fact, it has cost millions to Epic as the tech giant pulled off the game in 2020. This staggering move by the California company came past Fortnite’s update, where players directly paid to Epic instead of going through Apple. As a result, the franchise took down the battle royale title, suing the company for multiple issues.
4. Fortnite’s world of crossovers and collaborations
Fortnite has a significant past in the collaboration industry, as the franchise has partnered up with some big names. Be it pop stars or famous movie franchises, the game has always found a way to add them to the game. However, fans are not happy about this, as they feel Epic is only concerned about the money.
DIVE DEEPER: Fortnite Fans Left Awestruck as Epic Games Bring Cult Hero Indiana Jones to the Massive Island
Their emotions are understandable, as the franchise would add multiple live events, challenges, or something unique to keep up the hype. But now, it feels like Epic Games just focuses on bringing new characters to the game. Apart from this, it has heavily affected the in-game season durations, as it feels like they are never-ending.
3. Fortnite and its Spray Meta!
Since season 1, it always feels like Fortnite focuses more on releasing spray meta guns. There are various examples to prove it, such as the Scar, different SMGs, LMGs, and many more.
It has caused a major problem in the game as fans are tired of the ‘spray and pray’ guns. For those uninitiated, spray guns require the least amount of skill, as they have a higher shooting rate, allowing players to kill their opponents with little effort. Despite having a massive recoil, these guns have a faster reload rate as compared with other guns.
2. Pay to win skins!
Every game has an enormous library of cosmetics for players to choose from. They range from different gun skins and vehicle camos to flashy in-game outfits for a particular price. But when such things try to ruin the game, fans hate it to the core.
Such had been the case with Fortnite in 2019 when they released a single skin-colored bundle in the item shop. Players could easily turn themselves into a shadow and pop up during mid-fights. This heavily affected Fortnite’s player base as streamers and pros called quits on the game.

1. Fortnite and its Skill-Based MatchMaking
Not every player who plays an FPS title wishes to climb up the in-game rank ladder. Some of them just tune it to take their minds off things after a long day of work. However, Fortnite’s servers fail to understand this concept as they match up low-level players against pros.
As a result, a majority of players uninstalled the game as they were tired of reporting this issue. The skill-based matchmaking problem has been around in the Fortnite industry since its initial years, but the franchise has taken no action against it.
