The conclusion of Valorant Champions Tour, Berlin did not end well for North American teams. 100Thieves failed to live up to expectations, and Team Sentinels couldn’t get past the first round. However, Team Envy made it to the grand finals but suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of EMEA’s Team Gambit.
100Thieves recently benched in-game leader Joshua “steel” Nissan ahead of the qualifiers. Team Sentinels’ key player, Sick believes something massive must’ve happened within the team that led to this decision.
“I don’t know why they, there must have been some big internal problems with Steel for them to cut him right before the LCQ. It’s pretty bold man, there must have been some crazy s**t going on in that camp,” he said.

100Thieves is in a serious problem ahead of regional qualifiers
Road to champions isn’t going to be easy at all for 100Theives. The team would have earned a direct invite had they managed to secure the top 2 at Berlin. Sadly, the team suffered a brutal loss at the hands of fellow NA squad, Team Envy, which has made things significantly difficult. NA no longer has multiple slots for the upcoming Champions tournament as Team Sentinels and Envy have already accumulated enough points.
This leaves NA with just one open slot that will be up for grabs for the entire region. It will definitely make things exponentially difficult, as the organization is going through another roster shuffle. Steel’s exit will have significantly impacted the team’s morale as the 31-year-old player also took on the role of in-game leader.
The organization has now decided to appoint Nitro as the in-game leader. He already boasts a splendid history as an in-game leader, who led Team Liquid’s CS; GO on the most dominant run ever.

Will Sinatraa join 100T?
The team desperately needs to find a replacement for Steel to get past regional qualifiers. Nitro can easily assume the role of Sentinel player, which could make room for another key duelist player. Former Sentinels player Sinatraa is currently without a team and has become eligible to once again compete in the professional circuit.
