Nintendo has no shortage of excellent games; there are RPGs, excellent co-op titles, and there are games that fans would not mind spending hundreds of hours into. Aside from those excellent games from various genres, this console also has some games that were not up to par.

Now, Nintendo has hardly made a bad Animal Crossing game. Their formula is pretty straightforward to crack after all. But in the remote case of the Amiibo Festival, Nintendo really ruined their chance to bring this series to HD.
Instead, they turned it into a party game that required Amiibos and NFC cards to play. Yes, a game that requires you to buy more stuff to play!
Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast
The Donkey Kong series is all about platforming through increasingly hard levels and defeating bosses. But this particular time, developers decided this series needed its own racing game. But they missed the concept by a mile, and it was a flop.
The biggest criticism of this game was its bad controls. And let’s be honest, if you cannot even control a game right now, how would you judge its mechanics?

Tenchu: Dark Secret
Every Tenchu fan knows what this series was about: a game series set in ancient Japan starring a shinobi silently killing his enemies. Visually, these games used to shine; those dark environments were awesome to look at, but this game ruins them with its bad visuals.
Gameplay-wise, it is very bad due to the limited control options on the DS. Even the music of this game could not escape harsh criticism. No one ever denied the fact that Tenchi just wasn’t the game suitable for the Nintendo DS.
Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder
Chibi-Robo was once one of Nintendo’s most beloved franchises. This little guy was all about fun gameplay mechanics and tricky platforming. Although Nintendo skipped this game for the longest time, when they decided to bring it back on the 3DS, they basically ruined it.
And that’s what killed this beloved series; fans still wonder if Nintendo released this game to just kill the series forever.
Devil’s Third
What happens when a game director decides to pull a ridiculous setup the way Kojima does? You get Devil’s Third, a game with a ridiculously bad story, equally bad visuals, and gameplay that makes everything worse.
