The Xbox Games Showcase 2023 was lined up with many first-party and third-party titles. The fans were elated to see the announcement of much-awaited titles like Payday 3 and Forza Motorsport. The final 45 minutes of the showcase dived deep into Bethesda’s upcoming sci-fi RPG title, Starfield – in Starfield Direct.

The 45-minute-long presentation showcased everything the game has to offer to the audience. The team at Bethesda led by Tim Lamb, Lead Producer of Starfield, lifted the curtains on the topic of abilities, skill trees, and a leveling-up system. At Starfield Direct, Lamb expressed, “We took what we loved about skills and perks from our previous games and put them together to create an all-new skill system”. In the new level-up system, Lamb revealed crossing through every level will provide players with skill points. These skill points can be used to unlock or rank up skills. Furthermore, to unlock the ranks in each skill set, players have to complete a set of challenges for that skill.

He revealed there will be five different skill trees in the upcoming Bethesda IP. These five skill trees are Physical, Social, Combat, Science, and Tech. In each skill present in the tree, there will also be four ranks to completely master it.
