1. Amnesia: Bunker

Amnesia is a series known for leaving its players helpless, hiding from the horrors that prey upon them. This latest game is no different; only in this one, the intensity is tenfold, as they are given a gun but only a handful of bullets and a choice of when to use those bullets and how.
You see, the monster cannot die, and the gun is merely a tool for survival rather than a solution to all the problems.
2. Darkest Dungeon
This is not merely a horror game; Darkest Dungeon is in fact a very “dark” turn-based strategy game with roguelike elements added to it. As the name suggests, players venture into a dark dungeon in search of riches, and they are met with some severe challenges. Unnatural enemies and monsters stalk them.
Players have a party, and that party can diminish permanently; status effects like fear remain with them, and they even affect the player’s combat ability. Play this game if you are ready for some intense challenges.
3. Soma
Play as the last living soul on a diminishing underwater facility, looking for a way out. But those ways aren’t always as straightforward as one might imagine. Players have to make their way through environments haunted by malfunctioning machines and androids thinking of themselves as humans.

This game takes players on a horrifying journey through an ending world and gives them a very unexpected ending. Just prepare yourself for some existential crises after this one.
4. Prey
Play as an astronaut stuck in a routine. When he tries to break that routine, all hell breaks loose, and players find themselves fighting a weird new kind of shapeshifting enemy and making some tough choices.
One of the best-looking games ever made and one of the best spiritual successors to System Shock, this game deserves all the praise it can get.

5. The Evil Within 2
After escaping an overwhelmingly powerful hivemind in the first part, protagonist Detective Sebastian Castellanos is forced to jump right back in to save his daughter, whom he previously thought dead.
It would not be easy, though; that place is now overwhelmed by some twisted minds, such as serial killers and nightmares made flesh. Scarier and more fun to play than its prequel, this game does not disappoint.
