The post-apocalyptic show has become an absolute fan-favorite as happened with its source material, the 2013’s Game of the Year with the same name. Fans are now eagerly looking forward to when Season 2 would air and the storyline it will bring.
However, it seems Ellie from the HBO adaptation, or the actress Bella Ramsey, has a piece of information that fans would want. The 19-year-old revealed recently cleared the air around the second season of the much-loved show. Moreover, Ramsey revealed that she would return as Ellie in Season 2 while also implying that Pedro Pascal, who played Joel Miller, would have relatively less screen time.

Bella Ramsey reveals when The Last of Us Season 2 will release
The first season took quite a while to take shape after the initial announcement, as the shooting and development of the series took almost a year. However, Bella Ramsey recently shed light on when shooting will begin and the estimated release window for Season 2 during her interview at The Jonathan Ross Show (via Independent).
The 19-year-old actress reported, “It will be a while. I think we’ll probably shoot at the end of this year, or the beginning of next. So it’ll probably be the end of 2024, early 2025.” It seems the second season will as much time as the first season of the HBO adaptation.

Season 2 will cover the events of the second installment of the game. However, the show’s creators revealed that it would differ from 2020’s Game of the Year. But if the HBO adaptation takes major inspiration from the game, fans will be seeing a 19-year-old Ellie, who is closer to the actress’s real-life age. Then Joel Miller would possibly die too in the upcoming season, which might explain the young actress’s hints at less screen time for Pedro Pascal.
