EA’s upcoming Battlefield 2042 just got a whole new trailer. The new video focuses on the game’s specialist operators. Battlefield 2042 will feature four specialists: the scout, the medic, the heavy, and the sniper. The trailer offers a fair bit of tease regarding all the specialists and how they will fit into the game.

Apart from these four, the game is set to include six more specialist classes (a total of 10) which might be revealed as we get closer to the release window. EA has also said that more specialists will be added post-launch.

Battlefield 2042: New video with four specialists revealed

The video starts with Webster Mackay, the first specialist. He is a fast-moving and casually armed guy. Mackay possesses a grappling hook, allowing him to reach tough spots. And he can also run more swiftly while aiming down sights and zip lining. Players who like run and gun gameplay might want to keep an eye on him.

The second specialist we got to see was Maria Falck. She is a combat doctor, and apart from gunning down enemies, her main ability includes quick healing. She can even revive far-off teammates with her S21 Syrette Pistol. Maria is a supporting character.

However, the developers have nerfed her S21 Syrette Pistol as it “was causing a significant enough imbalance in gameplay.
As per the devs, “Previously we shared that Falck’s Gadget would Revive, and Heal at Range. Going forward, the gadget will simply Heal at Range, and not Revive.”

Next is Pyotr “Boris” Guskovsky, a Russian engineer who brings a humongous gun(SG-36 Sentry System) with him. The SG-36 Sentry System can automatically target and attack enemies within a defined range. Going by the Battlefield 2042 specialist page, “his leadership skills may be a bit aggressive to some, [but] there is no denying his skills in the field.” Sounds very interesting.

Last but not least, is Wikus “Casper” Van Daele. A recon class specialist whose specialty is the OV-P recon drone. His drone can confuse opponents with EMP bursts. Also, the drone can select targets for “lock-on weapons.” The list does not end here. Wikus also has a movement sensor that informs him of advancing enemies.
