The highly anticipated game based on the team of notorious DC villain team, Suicide Squad kill the justice league, has already started gaining some notoriety among the fans as a recently leaked image has shown that the game will have a “Battle Pass” feature. As it was advertised as a AAA single-player, story-based campaign, this sudden addition of a free online game mechanic has made the fan rage on social media.
But not just a Battle Pass, the leaked screenshot has also teased that there will be some other elements that may motivate “micro-transactions”. It hasn’t been confirmed yet if this is actually the case, but the community has already started bashing the game and the dev studio of Rocksteady.

Recently, on the online media-sharing platform of 4Chan, a leaked screenshot surfaced that teased the opening menu of the game. With a single glance, it could be noticed that the menu looks a bit “odd” for a single-player campaign. The menu was full of submenus and multiple currencies, which was more akin to an online game such as PUBG and Fortnite.

The image also revealed that there is an in-depth XP system that may help the players customize their character’s stats or skills, which may help them personalize their gameplay much further. But there are some online debates that speculate the XP system could also be manipulated with micro-transactions, which will give some players an unfair advantage.
According to VGC, the devs had said in a previous interview, “You don’t start off debuffed and weak… You just start off great and can get ridiculous, like Arkham Knight’s Batman.” According to some fans this statement now is making sense as the potential skill or XP system could make some player achieve insanity.
How did the fans react?
The fans had a very mixed reaction to the whole situation. The addition of the “Battle Pass” and potential “Micro-transaction” elements have discouraged many. But according to a fan, “Battlepass will focus on cosmetics. The various currencies shown at the top is XP used to power up and customise the skill trees of each antihero.”
In the end, all we can do it take these leaks with a grain of salt. As so far there hasn’t been any official statement baking up these claims. The fans have to wait till May 2023 to get the answers.
So it has levels, loadouts and I guess gearscores too. Yikes. Probably never had my excitement for a game die this quickly from a single image.

I assumed this was meant to be a narritve focused single player game. Looks like we're going to get another trip down the Marvel's Avengers game street. Pretty disappointing.

I don’t understand why everyone is SO upset by the optional battle pass. The UI is whatever, but the base character models are dope, I’ve no need tor extra skins so why worry about extra costs if I’m not gonna want to buy anything anyway. They getting $70 from me, that’s it lol
